A lot of prophecies concern Paris. It's no wonder, because since the 18th century, Paris has been a fulcrum of French and European politics, later becoming the capital of culture. Whenever Paris rose up, governments and crowned heads across Europe trembled, and not just once, but many times.
Paris resonated deeply in the mystical and spiritual realms. Numerous prophets, particularly French and Catholic, foretold grim destinies for the city and its inhabitants. Given that many of the changes initiated by Paris were anti-Catholic in nature, it's not surprising that the city's future appeared bleak in the minds of those who claimed to have foresight.
In previous articles, I've discussed the challenges of discerning which prophecies could be valid and which could not. Similar to the moral panic of the Cold War, when almost every prophet spoke about Russian tanks reaching the Rhine and nuclear war, which failed to materialize, many prophets of the 19th century despaired amidst their own moral panic about the rebellious city. That's why I don't consider the majority of those prophecies.
Those prophecies that remain still paint an ominous future for la Ville Lumière. Most prophets agree that before or during the Third World War, France will be in the throes of revolution, and Paris will be destroyed by its inhabitants.
Nostradamus:
Century III-84
La grande cité sera bien desolee,
Des habitans vn seul n'y demeurera
Mur, sexe, temple & vierge violee,
Par fer, feu, peste canon peuple mourra. The great city will be thoroughly desolated,
Of the inhabitants not a single one will remain there:
Wall, sex, temple and virgin violated,
Through sword, fire, plague, cannon people will die.Century III-93
Dans Auignon tout le chef de l'empire
Fera arrest pour Paris desolé:
Tricast tiendra l'Annibalique ire,
Lyon par change sera mal consolé.In Avignon the chief of the whole empire
Will make a stop on the way to desolated Paris:
"Tricast" will hold the anger of Hannibal:
Lyons will be poorly consoled for the change.
Nostradamus suggests that Paris will not only be destroyed by its inhabitants but also by cannons, indicating that Paris will be on the front lines, a victim of military operations during the war.
Jesuit Nectou 18th Century:
"Everything will be saved the moment one finds everything lost. During this upheaval, which, it seems, will be general and will not only extend to France, Paris will be completely destroyed. After these terrible events, order will be restored, and justice will be done to everyone. Then the triumph of the Church, her last triumph on earth, will be as great as she has ever experienced a similar one. If England begins to be shaken in its power, one will be close to a general catastrophe. England, in turn, will undergo a revolution, more terrible than the French, and France will help England to restore peace."
Van Rensburg, the famous South African prophet, predicts that the downfall of England is near. It appears that the destruction of Paris is tied to the fate of England.
Saint Seraphim of Sarov, Russian prophet (1754 - 1833):
“To France for her love for the Mother of God, the holy Madonna, will be given up to 17 million Frenchmen with its capital in the city of Rheims, while Paris will be completely destroyed."
La Salette Catholic prophecy (1846):
"France, Italy, Spain and England will be at war. The blood will flow on the streets. The Frenchman will fight with the French, the Italian with the Italian. Eventually, there will be a general war that will be appalling. For a time God will remember neither Italy nor France, because the gospel of Christ has been completely forgotten. The bad guys will unfold all their wickedness. One will kill oneself, one will kill oneself into the houses.
At the first blow of his sword, which will strike like lightning, the mountains and all nature will tremble with horror, because the disorder of the people and their crimes penetrate the heavens. Paris will be burnt down and Marseille devoured. Several large cities will be burned down and seized by earthquakes. One will believe that everything is lost. You will only see human murder. You will only hear gunfire and blasphemy. The righteous will suffer much; their prayers, their penances and their tears will rise to heaven and the whole people of God will beg for pardon and mercy and call for my help and intercession."
The La Salette prophecy aligns with others that suggest France and Italy will experience revolutions before a general conflagration. Even Nostradamus hints at trouble in France and Italy just before World War Three in his Epistle to King Henry II.
Don Bosco, Italian prophet:
“in 150 years the Church will have her greatest evangelizers of the world in history. But before the year 2036, the great tribulation will be experienced. It will consist of a war of a duration of 400 days. Paris will be greatly affected, almost destroyed..."
Alois Irlmaier, 20th century prophet from Germany:
"The city with the steel tower [Paris] will be set on fire by its inhabitants and will be leveled to the ground."
Gottfried von Werdenberg, modern Austrian prophet:
"The social outcasts, the mob, are a danger for all countries which share borders with France and Italy. These murdering and plundering hordes show no mercy. They will also destroy Rome and Paris, set alight by the mob, will burn like a torch. In any event, due to the war, large cities and towns will be destroyed more or less. Survival is only possible in the country and in small villages."
When everything is connected into one whole, the story of Paris is much broader, encompassing almost the entire Western Europe, which, it seems, will experience difficult times even before the next world war, especially Britain, France, and Italy. Internal contradictions and economic difficulties will lead to the collapse of the system.
